About Us
Meribel Ski Chalets was born out of a three way dilemma - how do we combine our passion for skiing and the mountains, with a love of sailing and the sea, and provide a stable home for our rapidly expanding young family?
The answer was to live by the sea on the Isle of Wight, and buy a ski chalet in Meribel for us to enjoy long and easy skiing holidays. This worked perfectly until we hit a snag...
Our kids reached school age, and the long ski holidays were now rather short half-term and Easter breaks. Rather than leave the chalet empty for 14 weeks of the season, we managed to persuade our friends Steve and Debbie, who were high-flying management consultants, to give up their well-paid secure jobs in London, and spend a season running Les Grands Sorbiers, our first catered chalet in Meribel. We had a hunch they could cook, and from their hugely successful first season, in 2001, we have gone from strength to strength, buying a second chalet, Chalet Snowbel in 2005, taking on a third, Chalet Sainte Appolonnie, in 2008. We have since added two more chalets - a ski-in/ski-out chalet Les Matines and Chalet Marmottons with outdoor hot-tub. So we now can offer you 5 catered ski chalets in Meribel.
Recipe for the Perfect Skiing Holiday
Having been lucky enough to have skied since year dot, we have experienced every possible type of skiing holiday, and so we reckon we've worked out how to have the perfect catered ski holiday:
