Chalet Snowbel

Chalet Snowbel probably has the best location in Meribel of any individual chalet. It is two doors down from La Refuge restaurant, right in the centre of town.

It is less than a minute to walk to the escalator that takes you onto the mountainside by the Tourist Office. From here, it is a short walk/ride to La Chaudanne, the main lift area of Meribel, with access to all three valleys. Alternatively, you can come out of the chalet’s front door and follow the high street down to the same place.

In the evenings, entertainment is virtually on your doorstep, with all of Meribel’s shops, restaurants and bars within a short stroll – perfect if you are resting some of those overworked limbs! Chalet Snowbel was built in 2005.  It has three bedrooms, all twins or doubles, with one of the rooms also having space for extra beds, for use as a family room. The chalet has two balconies and a large terrace where you can watch the sun disappear behind the mountains as you enjoy your after activities drinks.

As you come in off the street, you come to the garage area which is used as the bike/equipment storage/ leaving hiking boots and shoes.  You then head up the stairs to the front door of the chalet itself.

Off the entrance hall, you have Bedroom 1. This is the ensuite double / twin bedroom, with room for one or two more beds. It’s ideal for a couple, for three single adults, or two adults and two children. It has a balcony with views of Meribel and the mountains beyond. It has an ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and basin. Also off the entrance hall, you'll find the main living and dining area. This is an open plan room with kitchen, dining area and living area.

The living area seats 5 on the corner sofa. There’s a large flat-screen TV, with satellite Freeview channels, DVD player, and choice of DVDs. There’s also an iPod docking station. Off the living room is a balcony with views of Meribel and the mountains. There’s also a downstairs loo. Stairs from the living area lead up to the second floor. Here there is access onto a large outdoor terrace.

Bedroom 2 – this is an ensuite double / twin room. The ensuite bathroom has a bath with stand-up shower, toilet and basin. Bedroom 3 – this is a very small room, currently set up as a twin or double. It's ideal for one adult, two children, or at a push a couple. Across the landing from Bedroom 3 is Bathroom 3 with bath, stand-up shower, toilet and basin.

With Chalet Snowbel’s central location, there is plenty of parking space available in the near vicinity, and just a short hop further one can benefit from toll free parking in ‘Les Ravines’ open air car park for the entirety of your stay.
