Car Hire

Car Hire

If you’re flying, then car hire is often a more cost effective way of getting from the airport, than a taxi, depending on the size of your group.  You’ll need to have snow chains, just in case, although the road up to resort is usually cleared very quickly.

We can email you directions from the airport to your chalet, or you can have a look at Via Michelin.

Once in resort, there are various parking options.

If you’re staying at Chalet Snowbel or Les Matines, you’ll be unlikely to need the car during your stay. For Snowbel you can park outside the chalet to unload the car, and for Les Matines, you can park by the escalator by the tourist office, and we'll help you unload, and get across the piste to the chalet.  Once unloaded you can take your car to the open air free car park, that’s a two minute walk away.  If you’d prefer, there’s also an underground car park close by, that costs about 80 euros for the week.

If you’re at Les Grands Sorbiers, you may want the car to pop down the hill into town (although it is only a short walk).  There is a small parking area by the front door to the building – if this is taken, then Route de la Renarde is a quiet road, and there is parking along one side of it.

Le Marmotton has parking next to the chalet, and Chalet Sainte Appolonnie has parking nearby.

There are various car rental agencies at all the airports, and pre-booking can often be cheaper.  If you're flying into Geneva, it's easier to hire a car from the Swiss side - it may be more expensive, but it comes with the Swiss motorway vignette, and you don't have the fiddle of finding your way out of the French side of the airport.
