Les Grands Sorbiers Location

Les Grands Sorbiers has a fantastic location in the exclusive Renarde district of Meribel.  It’s just above the town centre, and only a 3 minute walk along Route de la Renarde to the nearest slope.  From here, it’s a 1 minute ski down to La Chaudanne, the main lift area.  (This run is blue, so not suitable for total beginners – but it’s short enough that they could walk or slide down it.).  From La Chaudanne you can easily access the whole of the 3 Valleys.  It’s also the meeting point for the various ski schools.

At the end of your day, you ski back to your starting point on Route de la Renarde, and from there it’s only a 4 minute walk back to the chalet (slightly uphill, and heavier legs!)

It’s a 6 to 10 minute walk from the chalet into the centre of Meribel, depending if you go straight down the slope, or walk down the winding road.  Not surprisingly, it takes longer to get back to the chalet from town, as it’s uphill.

There is a very good free bus service that runs throughout Meribel, so if you didn’t fancy the walk up the hill, you can get the bus up to Morel, and then walk down to the chalet – an 8 minute walk.  The chalet staff can show you the bus stops when you arrive.
