Les Matines Location

Chalet Les Matines is a ski-in ski-out chalet situated just off the home run down to La Chaudanne, the main lift area.  It's less than a minute's ski to La Chaudanne where all the ski schools meet.   And in the evening, it's only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Meribel.

The chalet is located on a snowy path, that you can ski along.  There is a flight of stone steps from the path up to the chalet.  If you're a total beginner you'd have to walk along the path to the escalator and then walk 200 yards down the road to ski school, but after a day or two, once you've found your ski legs, you'll be able to ski it.  For guests with young children, you need to be aware that to access the chalet from the town, you go up an escalator and walk across the slope and along a snowy path.  

There is no parking at the chalet, and no vehicular access.  To unload your luggage, you drive to the bottom of the escalator in the centre of Meribel, from where we'll help you up the escalator, and load your bags onto a large toboggan for the short walk to your chalet.  You can then park your car either in the free open-air car park, or the covered pay-as-you-stay car park (approx. 50 euros for the week).  Both car parks are a 2 minute walk to the escalator.
