The Meribel Ski Chalets Team

The Meribel Ski Chalets Team

We're now looking for our team for 2010 - 2011.  We have several exciting positions, and would love to talk to you about working for us.  We don't ask for much, just the following:

1. You must be very very nice (don't try and bluff this one, we can check)

2. You must be a very very good cook (well, certainly if you're applying for one of the chalet cook posts.) Ideally you have experience as a chalet cook, or at least you've been on a super-duper cookery course.

3. And finally, you need to be professional, well-presented, hard-working, fun to be around, a good team worker, enjoy working on your own, handle pressure well, love people, love the great outdoors, love food, a good time-keeper, honest, helpful, and you must clean behind your ears (do we sound like your mother?)

If you're all of those things, then we'd love to meet you, so drop us an email.

Here's a list of the jobs we're after for next season:

1. Resort Manager:  Basically you're in charge.  You'll run the chalets, the guests, the resort, the budget.  It's like being Prime Minister without the hassle of being elected, nor the nasty things like killing people (usually).  You need to be an amazing person and speak French too.  You also need to have done a ski season, and know what you're talking about.

2. Chalet Cooks:  As mentioned above, and this won't surprise you, you need to be able to cook.  Not just any old food, but fantastic, delicious, and scrummy food.  You need to be obsessively clean and tidy, you need to love people in all shapes and sizes, and to be able to smile in all circumstances, and to laugh in the face of adversity.  Most likely, you'll be running a small chalet on your own, or a larger chalet with the help of a chalet host, so when you apply, let us know if you like working alone or with others.

3. Chalet Host: You need to be incredibly charming, without being smarmy.  At ease with putting people at ease, and expert at being discrete.  Ready to help in any situation, and with a sunny personality - toujours.  You don't need to have done a season before, nor do you need to be an expert cook but you do need to have a passion for food and skiing.

4. Resort Driver:  The nuts and bolts job.  You'll drive guests from the chalets to the slopes, you'll drive staff from their homes to the chalets (if they ask you nicely), you'll do weekend transfers for guests to and from the airports.  You'll also look after maintenance in the chalets, light fires, oversee the jacuzzi in Chalet Marmottons, help guests carrying their bags across the snow to Les Matines, and just generally be Mr or Miss Helpful.  Guess what - as well as doing all this, you need to be great fun to be around too.  We don't just want you for your toolbag, we want your personality too!  No previous ski season necessary, but experience driving a minibus, especially on the other side of the road, would be a big plus.  And knowing one end of a screwdriver from the other.

If you're the person we're looking for, drop us an email, with a CV or resume, a photo (of you, preferably), and if you're a cook, include a 6-day menu plan that'll make our tummies rumble.

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

Will and Lara x
