Ski Pass

To make your holiday as easy as possible, we’ll organise your ski passes for you, in one of two ways:

1. You can pre-order your passes through our online booking system, so that they’re waiting for you at the chalet when you arrive.
2. On your first evening, we can go through the various options with you, take your order, and then drop the passes off in time for first lifts the next morning.

Alternatively, you can buy passes yourselves from the ticket office at the main Chaudanne lift area.

All three options cost the same, some are just less hassle than others.

What pass should you choose:
There are two main choices when it comes to your ski pass – whether you go for a Meribel Valley or a Three Valley Ski Pass:

The 3 Valley ski pass allows you to use every lift in the whole of the 3 Valleys area, from Courchevel through to Val Thorens and over to Orelle.  This is a huge ski area, with every level of run from green to black, and you certainly won’t be bored.

The Meribel Valley ski pass allows you to use every lift within the Meribel Mottaret valley, which is still a large area, and is the ideal pass for beginners and intermediates.  You can buy a daily 3 Valley extension pass, if you decided you wanted to go further afield one day.

Reductions:
If you are under 5 you go free.  If you’re over 75 you go free.  If you are under 13 or over 65 you pay a reduced rate.  We’ll need a copy of your passport to prove your age for any of these reductions.

Family Pass:
These are available for families with 2 parents and 2 or more children aged 5 - 17 inclusive.  They represent a big saving especially if the children are 13 – 17, as they would have to buy an adult pass if you bought individual passes.  With a family pass you still get your individual lift passes – you don’t all have to ski together all the time!  We’ll need a copy of all your passports to show you’re a family.

All prices in euros
Children under 5 go free.
Seniors over 75 go free.
Family pass children aged 5 – 17 inclusive.

Pedestrian Pass
For those not skiing, but still wanting to go up the mountains and enjoy the stunning views, fresh air, and lovely walks, you can buy a pass that lets you go on most bubble cars and cable cars, and some chairlifts.  A 6-day pass is 59.80 euros.

Ski Insurance
We recommend that you buy ski insurance to cover you for any accidents on the mountain.  You can either get this at home with the winter cover on your travel insurance – check what this covers you for, and be aware that you will probably have to pay for rescue or treatment up front and then claim it back.  Alternatively you can get ski insurance with your ski pass.  This will cover you for mountain rescue, and emergency treatment until you’re stable, and reimbursement of your lift pass for up to 3 days.  In case of emergency, just show your ski pass and you’ll have nothing to pay.  This ski insurance needs to be bought at the same time as the ski pass, and for the same length of the ski pass.  You’ll need to pay for it for those entitled to free ski passes too.  Cost of insurance is 2.80 euros per day for an adult and 2.40 euros per day for a child (5 – 12).
