Chalet Le Marmotton
Chalet Le Marmotton is a spacious 10-person chalet with a lock-up garage for bikes, and a large south-facing terrace. The chalet has 5 twin or double bedrooms and is ideal for 2 or 3 families or a group of friends.
All rooms are en-suite - 4 with baths, 1 with a shower - and two of the rooms have small balconies. Bedroom 5 is a family room that has an upstairs mezzanine ideal for two smaller adults or children. So in all, the chalet can sleep up to 12 people.
Chalet Le Marmotton has plenty of living space. The living room has a lovely sunken fireplace with room for 3 people to sit and have a cosy tete-a-tete, whilst behind them is the larger seating area with room for about 8 people to kick-back and relax, and watch the wall-mounted flat-screen, with free-to-air TV and DVD player. Upstairs, there’s a small mezzanine area with beanbags – ideal for kids to chill watching a DVD or playing a game.
The dining area is just off the living room, and has a large farmhouse table, with room for up to 12 people. This is a rustic stone-walled room with a traditional chalet feel. The open-plan kitchen/dining area has French windows leading out onto the terrace, so it’s an easy stroll from grabbing your beer out of the fridge and retiring to your deck chair out in the sunshine. As you sit back and relax, let your cool drink take away all your aches and pains after another action packed day in the mountains. Simply relax, enjoy your drink, and soak up the stunning mountain views.
You enter Marmotton by the code-locked door on the ground floor, where you’ll find the boot room, with bench seating, and space to leave your hiking boots or cycling shoes. You go up the blue-lit stairs to the main floor, with the living room and dining room.
Also on this floor you’ll find Bedroom 1. This is a twin or double room with an ensuite bathroom up a flight of stairs. Off the living room you have newly-refurbished Bedroom 2, which is a small double room with en-suite shower-room. Finally on this floor there’s a downstairs loo. Stairs lead off the living room up to the first floor, with a mezzanine balcony overlooking the living area. There are 3 bedrooms off this balcony area.
Bedroom 3 is a small double room with ensuite bathroom. It has a door leading on to a small balcony. Bedroom 4 is a twin room with ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 5 can be a twin or double room, with ensuite bathroom. It also has steep stairs up to an enclosed mezzanine level with two single beds. The mezzanine has a low sloping ceiling, so is ideal for kids, although adults can sleep here, but they wouldn’t be able to stand up whilst getting into bed. Bedroom 5 has a balcony access that looks up the Valley into Meribel and beyond. Bedroom 2, 3 and 5 have wooden shutters on the windows for silent nights.
For road cycling or mountain biking enthusiasts, there is a big secure, lock-up garage which is a perfect storage/ repair space for your bikes and anything else you might need to stash away during your holiday along with a perfect washing area in front of the chalet to get your rigs ready and sparkling for the next day’s endeavours.
