Ski Pass
To make your holiday as easy as possible, we organise your ski passes for you. You pre-order your passes by e-mailing or calling us, and they will be waiting for you at your chalet when you arrive. No need to queue up at the ski pass office or at a collection point. Our prices are the same as you’ll get at a ski pass office and in some cases a little cheaper.
What pass should you choose: There are two main choices – you go for either a Meribel Valley or a Three Valley Ski Pass.
The 3 Valley ski pass allows you to use every lift in the whole of the 3 Valleys area, from Courchevel through to Val Thorens and over to Orelle. This is a huge ski area, with every level of run from green to black. You certainly won’t be bored.
The Meribel Valley ski pass allows you to use every lift within the Meribel Mottaret valley, which is still a large area, and is the ideal pass for beginners and intermediates. You can buy a daily 3 Valley extension pass if you decided you wanted to go further afield one day.
Reductions: If you are under 5 you go free. If you’re over 75 you go free. If you are under 13 or over 65 you pay a reduced rate.
Family Pass: These are available for families with 2 parents and 2 or more children aged 5 – 17 inclusive. They represent a big saving because everyone pays the child price. With a family pass, you still get your individual lift passes – so you don’t all have to ski together!
Pedestrian Pass For those not skiing, but still wanting to go up the mountains and enjoy the stunning views, fresh air, and lovely walks, you can buy a pass that lets you go on most bubble and cable cars, as well as selected chairlifts. A one day pass costs €25.50 and a 6-day pass costs €80.
Ski Insurance We highly recommend that you buy ski insurance to cover you for any accidents on the mountain. You can either get this at home with the winter cover on your travel insurance – check what this covers you for, and be aware that you will probably have to pay for rescue or treatment up front and then claim it back.
Alternatively, you can get Carré Neige ski insurance with your ski pass. This will cover you for mountain rescue, and emergency treatment in hospital, and reimbursement of your lift pass for up to 3 days. In case of emergency, just show your ski pass and you’ll have nothing to pay. This ski insurance can be bought with the ski pass or can be added on at the lift office. Those entitled to free ski passes will still need to pay for insurance if you want the cover.
Cost of insurance is around 3.00 euros per day for an adult or child for up to 7 days. For 8 – 21 days, it’s a fixed price of €24. (Insurance prices TBC). To find what’s covered by the Carré Neige insurance click here.

Ski hire
We’ve gone to extra steps to make hiring skis as easy as possible for you, and it really is very straightforward.
Just pop onto Slide Candy’s website, choose your skis and boots, and your kit will be waiting for you at the chalet when you arrive. Then one of their trained technicians will come to your chalet to make sure everything is tickety-boo. Any problems and they’ll sort it out on the spot.
Slide Candy established themselves in 2010/2011 season as Meribel’s No.1 ski rental delivery service with quality equipment, exceptional customer service, competitive pricing and fantastic value for money.
There are cheaper ski hire shops, but you’ll usually end up with worse equipment, a long queue in the ski hire shop and having to carry your kit from shop to chalet. We’d use Slide Candy every time.
Ski School
There are several ski schools operating in Meribel, where you can learn skiing, snowboarding, telemarking, mogul skiing, mono-skiing and cross-country, from beginner to competition level.
We recommend Parallel Lines – now the number one British Ski & Snowboard School in Meribel. They provide the very best ski and snowboard lessons for all abilities with English speaking instructors . From their base in Meribel, and run by people who know Meribel inside out, they have built a top-level team of skiers and specialist snowboarders, committed to offering the very highest levels of service, from first contact to final turns. We have been very impressed with them over the years – and many of our guests return to Parallel Lines each year. They offer a small, friendly and flexible service, in group lessons or private lessons. They do get booked up, so it’s worth booking early to avoid disappointment.
We also highly recommend Marmalade Ski School, who run “youth” group lessons for teenagers that have moved beyond traditional ski school. They also do adult group lessons for all standards, and bespoke private lessons from beginners to those looking for the best off-piste in the 3 Valleys. We’ve worked with Marmalade since they started and we love their approach to skiing, and life!
We also recommend New Generation who we’ve been working with the last few years and we’ve enjoyed their professional yet personal approach.
You can also get lessons with Oxygene, The Snow School, Snow D’Light, and the French ski school, ESF. They all offer group and private lessons.
Feel free to contact us for advice. The ski schools also offer ski guides, who can take you round the mountain, and show you the best slopes for your ability, and the best restaurants for your gluttony!
