YOUR CHALET SERVICE
Food
We want to offer you all the convenience and luxury of the catered chalet experience, without the cost. So here’s our recommendations so you can be well-fed and watered, without the stress:
1. Private cook/chef to your chalet. This is a bespoke service where you can order a cook or chef to your chalet for one meal, one day or the whole week. You pay the day rate for the chef, plus food and wine costs on top. We recommend booking this service early to ensure availability. Please contact us for prices and more info.
2. Meal Delivery. We’ve connected with Huski, the alpine meal delivery service. Huski brings delicious, home-cooked food to your door. You just have to pop the dish in the oven, open the bottle of wine, and relax. You order online, sit back and wait for delivery. You don’t miss a minute’s skiing, as the delivery will always be at a time to suit you.
Cleaning & Extras
We fully clean the chalet before and after your stay. If you’d like a mid-week clean as well, please contact us to arrange this. We can also offer a mid-week towel change service. If your chalet has a hot-tub we will visit the chalet each day to check the chemical levels and we will fully empty and clean it before you arrive – please note this means your hot-tub will not be available to use on your first evening.
Extras - After a long-day’s skiing you may want to relax with a massage. We can recommend a massage or physio to come to the chalet to loosen up weary muscles, and get you set for the next day. We highly recommend Three Valley Massage and have known Dorota for many years. If they are unavailable we also recommend Massage Me
Babysitting & Childcare
Skiing is a great family activity, and once your little ones have mastered the basics, it won’t be long before they’re whizzing past you down the mountains.
However, until that time, you’ll want to make sure they have a great holiday and are well looked after – we know only too well that a happy child will make for a happy holiday for you!
Most ski schools start children skiing from the age of 4, although ESF run a kindergarten for 3 to 5-year-olds that include playing about on skis. At this age, they normally can manage a couple of hours on the slopes before they tire and want to go home. Luckily in Meribel, there are other activities for little ones to enjoy – from tobogganing to swimming
What are your childcare options? If your kids aren’t skiing all day, and you are, then you have various choices: (Grandparents are very good options, unless, like ours, they, end up taking your 6-year-olds down black runs for fun!) There are three companies we recommend:
Meribel Nanny Services pride themselves in understanding exactly what you need to ensure you have a relaxed enjoyable holiday knowing your children are safe and happy. They offer anything from a full week’s booking to just a night’s babysitting. For more information call or email Nicole.
Snow Angel Nannies offer you a nanny who comes to your chalet and looks after the kids on a weekly basis. They will look after babies and children from 3 months old upwards. They also offer babysitting.
Merinannies are a nanny and babysitter finding service. You pay them an agency fee and they’ll find you a nanny. These nannies tend to be more flexible and should be able to work hours to suit you (usually with a 4-hour minimum each day)
Alternatively, the French Ski School, ESF run two play-schools: Les Piou Piou Kindergarden with fun on snow-covered playgrounds. Les Saturnins Day Nursery is also an option with indoor and outdoor activities.
All of the agencies listed above can also offer you babysitting options in the evenings.
